The Dallas Center-Grimes Fillies competed alongside five other team on Tuesday, April 25 and the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers’ invitational. The Fillies placed third with a team total of 111 points.


Tatum Jorgensen was the only Filly to finish her race in first place. Jorgensen ran the 200 meter dash in 27.29 seconds.


In second place of the 100 meter dash was Abby Ryan. She ran the race in just 13.61 seconds. Ryan also ran the 100 meter hurdles, in which she also placed second with a time of 16.60 seconds.


Both Ryan and Jorgensen ran as part of the Fillies’ 4x100 relay team. The relay team consisting of Ryan, Abby Weddle, Ashley Murrow and Jorgensen placed first with a time of 51.40 seconds. The Fillies’ relay team will also be heading to the Drake Relays on Friday, April 28.


In the field events, Ally Ferguson, Sarah Frett and Amber Fistler all placed second. Ferguson competed in the high jump where she finished with a 4’10” jump, Frett had a 15’3” jump in the long jump and Fistler had a 31’6” throw in the shot put. With a throw of 91’7.5”, Aldina Husic placed third in discus.


The Fillies’ sprint medley team of Frett, Murrow, Weddle and Sami Sterbenz ran the sprint medley in 1:56.89 and finished in second place. On Friday, the sprint medley team will be traveling to run at the Drake Relays.


The Fillies’ 4x200 and 4x800 relays teams both placed third at the meet. The 4x200 team had a time of 1:56.37 and the 4x800 finished in 10:53.76. The 4x400 team ran the race in 4:34.09 to finish in fourth place.


Carsyn Vance also ran the 100 meter hurdles for the Fillies, she placed fourth with a time of 17.50 seconds. Vance’s second race was the 400 meter hurdles in which she also placed fourth with a time of 1:16.42.


Filly Kaitlyn Murano ran the 1500 meter race in 5:43.85 and finished in fourth placed.


The Fillies next meet is on Thursday, April 27 at 4:45 in Clarke.
