The boys’ West Central Activities Conference golf meet was held in Panorama on Wednesday, May 3. The Van Meter Bulldogs competed at the meet and finished the 18 holes with 377 strokes for fourth place.
Blake Fryar was the lead for the Bulldogs. He finished the meet with 92 strokes and placed 14th overall.
Anthony Lowman came next for the Bulldogs. Lowman placed 17th with his 94 strokes.
Parker Fryar was just one stroke behind Lowman (95) and placed 20th at the meet. Dylan Sloan was in 21st with 96 strokes for the Bulldogs.
Ryan Schmitt and Daniel Mansfield finished up the meet for the Bulldogs. Schmitt placed 34th with 107 strokes and Mansfield placed 36th with 108 strokes.
“Blake Fryar played well on his last 9 holes to lead the way for us,” said coach Jed Alexander. “Overall the short game probably prevented us from finishing in the top three. We had too many three putts which prevented our guys from scoring in the 80’s which is what they were all aiming towards.”
