The Van Meter Bulldogs girls’ teams had a on Monday, May 8 at Martensdale-St. Mary’s where they placed third with their 96 points.
The only individual Bulldog to finish in first place was Meagan Blomgren. Blomgren had a 16’7” jump in the long jump event for her first place.
The Bulldogs’ sprint medley team also placed first. Olivia Prouty, Taylor Drummond, Natalie Barth and Blomgren ran the race in 1:57.17.
Blomgren was also one of the Bulldogs to run the 100 meter dash. She finished the race in 13.34 seconds for second place. Prouty was the second Bulldog in the race. Prouty placed fifth with her time of 14.30 seconds.
Mackenzie Roberts competed in the shot put. Roberts had a throw of 34’3.5” that put her in second place.
The 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800 relays teams all place second at the invitational. The 4x100 team ran the race in 54.18 seconds, the 4x400 team ran a 4:57.17 and the Bulldogs’ 4x800 team finished with a time of 11:59,84.
The Bulldogs’ 4x200 and distance medley teams both placed fourth. The 4x200 team finished the race in 2:05.53 and the distance medley relay team ran a 5:17.67.
Bulldogs Garrett Herr, Clair Lauterbach and Natalie Barth finished their individual raced in fourth place. Herr ran the 400 meter dash in 1:15.28. Lauterbach ran the 800 meter run for the Bulldogs and finished in 2:50.52. Barth was one of the Bulldogs to run the 100 meter hurdles, he finished the race in 17.68 seconds.
Barth also ran the 400 meter hurdles in which she placed sixth with her time of 1:16.36. Cari Walton was the other Bulldog in the race. Walton finished just ahead of Barth in fifth place with a time of 1:16.22. Walton was also the second Bulldog in the 100 meter hurdles, she placed sixth with a time of 18.42 seconds.
The Bulldogs have their State Qualifying meet tonight at Panorama at 4:00 p.m.
