The Tigers of Adel-DeSoto-Minburn traveled to Carlisle to play the Wildcats on Monday, May 15. The Tigers dominated the game and won 5-0.

The Tigers held possession of the ball the majority of the first half, but the Wildcats defense kept them from scoring.

It wasn’t until there was just 11 minutes left that the first goal was made. Braidon Lee assisted with the goal by sending a long pass to Eli Schwarzkopf who dribbled past a Wildcat then shot the ball past their goalkeeper.

Just before halftime, Matthew Dobrzynski and Connor York passed the ball back and forth down the right side of the field. The ball finally made it over to Schwarzkopf, who put the ball into the net for the second goal. The Tigers were now up 2-0.

A mere two minutes into the second half, Schwarzkopf completed his hat trick. Schwarzkopf and Davis Barton passed the ball back and forth down the field before he was able to drive the ball back into the bottom corner of the net.

The fourth goal came after a loose corner kick from Heriberto Ponce. Matthew Dobrzynski was able to get control of the ball and put it into the net.

The Tigers’ last goal came after a handball called against the Wildcats. Lucas O’Connor was awarded the penalty kick which drove right into the back of the net.

The Tigers dominated the Wildcats 5-0 and now hold a 12-4 record and are ranked tenth in Class 3A.

“Not our best performance, but a good win none the less,” said coach Bill Shields.

The Tigers will be playing in Nevada tonight, May 16 at 7:00 p.m.
