The second day of the State Track Meet was full of final races and events for the Warriors. The Warriors competed in 15 of the 16 events on Friday.


Moe Nealey and JanJay Peters competed in field events for the Warriors’ girls’ team. Nealey placed first in the shot put with her throw of 43 feet five inches. Peters placed 21st in the long jump with her jump of 15 feet one inch.


Jacob Cubacub, Jacob Wiggins and Chase Boland competed in the field events for the boys’ team. Cubacub had a jump of 20 feet 3.75 inches in the long jump to finish in 17th place. Wiggins and Boland competed in the shot put. Wiggins placed fourth with his throw of 53 feet 9.25 inches and Boland had a throw of 45 feet 11.75 inches.


Both the girls’ and boys’ distance medley teams ran on Friday. The girls’ team placed second with a time of 4:03.49 and the boys’ placed third with a time of 3:29.78.


Both Warriors teams also ran the 4x200 relay race. The boys’ places eighth when they ran a time of 1:29.29, the girls’ finished in second with their of 1:41.93.


Mary Gray and Kate Bannister both ran the 400 meter dash for the for Warriors. Gray placed fourth with her time of 1:05.25, just 0.10 seconds later was Bannister in fifth place.


Tyler Groathouse and Nolan Roethler ran the 400 meter dash for the boys’ team. Groathouse ran the race in 55.05 seconds and Roethler finished in 57.34 in seconds.


Both Warrior teams will have athletes compete in the State Meet on Saturday, May 20.
