The Girls’ State Golf Meet begins on Tuesday, May 30 and the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn, Waukee and Van Meter golf teams each had girls’ qualify.


A-D-M hosted the Class 4A Region 2 golf meet at River Valley Golf Course. Senior Lindsey Lange was A-D-M’s only golfer to qualify for the State Meet, she finished Regionals with 88 strokes.


Lange is a four-time state qualifier. Lange qualified as part of the A-D-M team her freshman and sophomore years and qualified individually her junior and senior years.


Van Meter only had one golfer qualify as well. Junior Molly Carey tied for second place at the Class 2A regional meet held in Winterset on May 22. She finished the meet with 93 strokes.


The Waukee golf team traveled to the Willow Creek Golf Course in Des Moines for their regional meet. Waukee’s girls’ golf team qualified for state after finishing the regional meet in second place with 339 strokes.


Brooke Boardman led the Warriors with 76 strokes on the 18 holes. Grace Gallagher finished with 85 strokes. Madalyn McCartan had 88 strokes on the 18-hole course and Elle Kramer ended with 90 strokes.


The Girls’ State Golf Meet will tee on Tuesday, May 30 through Wednesday May 31. The Van Meter girls will compete at Jester Park Golf Course in Granger, A-D-M will compete at Elmwood Country Club in Marshalltown and Waukee will compete at Coldwater Links in Ames.
