The Dallas Center-Grimes Fillies traveled to Pella to play a double header against the Dutch on Monday, June 12. The Fillies won the first game 8-3 while the Dutch took the second game 6-0.


The Fillies started out the first game strong by earning four runs in the first inning and not allowing the Dutch to score. The Dutch had scored all three of their runs by the end of the third inning, while the Fillies continued to score through the seventh inning.


Brooke Kramer was up to bat four times and had two hits against the Dutch. Kramer also scored three of the Fillies eight runs. Riley Hall also had two hits, one of which was a double, she scored two runs for the Fillies.


The Fillies had a total of nine hits off the Dutch’s pitcher. Amber Fistler, Paige Linthicum, Kamryn O’Brien, Erica Manning and Chase Wadsworth all had one hit while up to bat.


Linthicum also had two of the team’s six RBIs for the Fillies. Gabi Rodriguez, Fistler, O’Brien and Manning had the final four RBIs for the team.


The final three runs for the Fillies were scored by Fistler, Linthicum and Nicole Merical.


Fillies’ pitcher Allie Boender had ten strikeouts in the first game for an ERA 2.00


The Fillies dominated the first game against the Dutch, winning 8-3.


The second game didn’t go as well for the Fillies. The Fillies weren’t able to score the entire game, while the Dutch racked up six runs by the end of the game.


The Fillies only had two hits the entire game. The two hits came from Kramer and Cooney. Linthicum and Lauren were also walked to base, by the Dutch pitcher.


Hall pitched the second game for the Fillies, she only had two strikeouts for an ERA of 1.24.


The Fillies lost the second game of the double header 6-0.


The Fillies next game is tonight, June 13 against Waukee at 7:15 p.m.
