The Waukee Warriors softball team hosted a double header against the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars on June 14. The Warriors won both games and put their season record at 17-1.
Morgan Nealey led the Warriors in the first game with three hits, one double and one RBI. Warrior pitcher, Sarah Schaefer followed with two hits and one RBI.
Kelli Fogt had the final of the six hits for the Warriors and Kasey Costa and Jalyn Yaukovitz each had one RBI.
Logan Akason, Mary Kate Gray and Grace Foxen were the the three Warriors to score during the first game. Foxen led with two runs.
Schaefer won the game with 11 strikeouts and an ERA of 0.00.
The Warriors only allowed the Jaguars two hits and walked one batter. The Warriors won the first game 4-0.
Delaney Taylor and Molly Platte Warriors’ second game. Taylor and Platte had two hits, a double and an RBI each.
Costa followed with one hit, a double and two RBIs against the Jaguars. Natalie Wellet had the fifth and final RBI for the Warriors. Wellet and Schaefer also had one hit a piece.
Fogt, Costa, Gray and Foxen were the four to score during the second game. Foxen score two of the Warriors five runs.
Taylor Runchey and Carleigh Kray led the Jaguars in the second game; both had one hit and on RBI.
Runchey and Cassie Severson were the two Jaguars to score against the Warriors.
The Warriors beat the Jaguars 5-2 in the second game.
The Warriors have a tournament Friday, May 15 at Des Moines, East beginning at 8:00 a.m.
