The 2017 All-Conference, All-District and All-State selections for this season have officially been released, and the Dallas County area has several athletes on each list.
The Waukee Warriors had five athletes chosen for the Class 3A West All-District teams, four All-State members and eight CIML All-Conference selections. Waukee’s coach, Tony Gabriel, was also chosen as the Class 3A West District Coach of the Year.
Rebecca Corbett and Izzy Dammen were First Team All-Conference, All-District and All-State Selections.
Corbett led the team with 18 goals this season and 54 shots on goal. Dammen followed as the second leader with 11 goals and 24 shots on goal for a percentage of 0.458.
Ashlee Eaton was a First Team All-Conference and All-District selection and became a Second Team All-State selection. Emily LeVere was a First Team All-Conference selection and was chosen as a Second Team All-District and All-State selection.
Eaton only had one goal this season, but had a shot on goal percentage of 0.250. LeVere was the goalie for Waukee this season. She started all 14 games, only allowed seven goals and saved 42 goals.
Allie Williams was the fifth Warrior to be chosen as a First Team All-Conference selection. Williams was also chosen as a Second Team All-District selection.
Williams also had 11 goals this season to tie with Dammen for second leader. She had 29 shots on goal this year for her percentage of 0.379.
Riley Sailer was the only Warrior chosen as a Second Team All-Conference selection. Warriors Jori Nieman and Amy Wieland were recognized as CIML Honorable Mentions.
The Warriors had a tough loss to Ankeny during regionals, ending their season with a record of 11-7.
