The Iowa Girls Coaches Association have released the 2017 All-District and All-State selections for this past season, the Dallas County area has several athletes on both lists,


Adel-DeSoto-Minburn had three girls chosen for the Class 2A Central All-District teams and four All-State selections. Allie Cook and Chelsea Bright were both chosen as First Team All-District selections and First Team All-State Selections.


Cook finished the season with 15 goals and 41 shots on goal for a percentage of 0.366. Bright had 13 shots on goal for a percentage of 0.154.


Izzy LaFollette was chosen as a Second Team All-District selection. She finished the season leading A-D-M in goals with a total of 19, leading with 77 shots on goal with a percentage of 0.247.


Delaney Bertman and Sydney Bertman were chosen as Class 2A Second Team All-State selections. Sydney Bertman was the second leader of goals with 17 and had 58 shots on goal at the end of the season. Delaney Bertman was A-D-M’s goalie for the season. She started 16 games, only allowed 46 goals and had a save percentage of 0.955.


Dallas Center-Grimes was part of the Class 2A Central District, the Fillies also had three girls chosen for the All-District teams. Lexi Smith and Skylar Robertson were the two First Team All-District selections, both were chosen as Class 2A Second Team All-State selections as well.


Smith had five goals this season with 12 shots on goal for a percentage of 0.417. Robertson, DC-G’s goalie, played and started all 16 games, only allowing 25 goals and saved 59.


Natalie Paulson was chosen as a Second Team All-District selection. She had one goal this season and a shot on goal percentage of 0.250.


Waukee had a whopping five athletes chosen for the Class 3A West All-District teams as well as four All-State members. Chosen for First Team All-District was Ashlee Eaton, Izzy Dammen and Rebecca Corbett, the two Second Team All-District selections were Allie Williams and Emily LeVere. Dammen and Corbett were also chosen as First Team All-State selections and Eaton and LeVere became Second Team All-State selections.


Corbett led the team with 18 goals this season and 54 shots on goal. Dammen followed as the second leader with 11 goals and 24 shots on goal for a percentage of 0.458.


Eaton only had one goal this season, but had a shot on goal percent of 0.250. LeVere was the goalie for Waukee this season. She started all 14 games, only allowed seven goals and saved 42 goals.


Dammen also had 11 goals this season to tie with Dammen for second leader. She had 29 shots on goal this year for her percentage of 0.379.


Waukee’s coach, Tony Gabriel, was also chosen as the Class 3A West District Coach of the Year.
