The Van Meter Bulldogs softball team played the Clarke Indians on Thursday, June 22. The Bulldogs now hold a season record of 16-12 after beating the Indians 4-0.

The Bulldogs earned their first three runs in the first inning and it didn’t take them long to score the final run. By the bottom of the third inning, the Bulldogs had all four of their runs.

Meagan Blomgren had two hits out of the three times she was up to bat. Meagan Blomgren scored two of the Bulldogs’ four runs against the Indians.

Olivia Prouty scored one of the Bulldogs’ runs. She finished the game with one hit and one RBI.

Also finishing the game with one hit and one run was Mackenzie Blomgren.

Abby Archer had the fifth hit of the game for the Bulldogs as well as the second RBI.

Winning the game for the Bulldogs was pitcher Bailey Harding. Harding allowed three hits and walked three batters, she also struck out three batters.

The Bulldogs will by playing Des Moines Christian today, June 26, at 5:30 p.m.
