The Tiger softball team from Adel-DeSoto-Minburn played the Knoxville Panthers on Friday (June 23). The Tigers brought home the 8-0 victory.


Both teams fought hard until the end of the game when the Tigers took the lead. The Tigers earned their first three runs in the fifth inning, from there, they only continued to score. The Tigers didn’t allow the Panthers a single run, but had four in the sixth inning and another one in the seventh to end the game with a total of eight.


The leader for the Tigers was Brooke Hickey. Hickey scored one run against the Panthers after she hit a home run. Hickey also had two hits and one RBI.


Lindsey Lange also had two hits against the Panthers. Lange led the Tigers in runs, though, with a total of two.


Kate Collins and Ashley Tennant each scored one run. Collins finished the game with three hits and one RBI, Tennant had two hits and four of the Tigers’ eight RBIs.


Sierra Wyant had one run as well. She ended the game with one hit and one RBI. Alyssa Pringel and Abbie Hlas each had one run. Pringel had one hit against the Panthers and Hlas had three hits.


Hlas also pitched all seven innings for the Tigers. She only allowed two hits and struck out ten batters.


The Tigers next game is on Monday, June 26 in Winterset at 7:30 p.m.
