The Dallas Center-Grimes Fillies traveled to Linn-Mar for an invitational this past weekend (June 23-24). The Fillies won three of their four games.
Their first game was against Alburnett, the Fillies lost the game 7-0. The Fillies only had three hits the entire game.
The Fillies won the next three games. The Fillies won 9-0 against Center Point-Urbana, 8-2 over Durant-Bennett and 5-3 against Fort Dodge.
During the game against Center Point-Urbana, the Fillies finished with 12 hits. Riley Hall led with three hits and a double. Hall also scored two runs for the Fillies.
Kylie Merical was the leading scorer of the game with three runs.
The Fillies had eight hits and eight runs during the game against Durant-Bennett.
Amber Fistler led the Fillies during the game with her one run from a home run. Fistler also had three of the team’s six RBIs.
Brooke Kramer and Nicole Merical each scored two runs for the Fillies.
During the Fillies’ game against Fort Dodge, the five runs were spread out among the team.
Nicole Merical, Fistler, Gabi Rodriguez, Lauren Osborn and Chase Wadsworth were the five to score.
Fistler led this game as well with her two hits, two doubles and one RBI.
Allie Boender was the Fillies’ pitcher for the invitational. In the four games, Boender allowed 11 hits, 10 runs and had 28 strikeouts.
The Fillies have a double header tonight (June 26) against Pella Christian at 6:00 p.m.
