The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers baseball team played the Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays on Friday, June 23. The Tigers picked up their first win of the week when they beat the Bluejays 7-2.
The Tigers took lead of the game immediately, earning two runs in the first inning. The Bluejays were able to stop the Tigers in the second, but then the Tigers came back with three more runs in the third. The Bluejays earned their only two runs in the third and fourth innings, while the Tigers finished up scoring in the bottom of the sixth.
Nick Lindgren was the leader for the Tigers. He ended the game with one hit, a double and one RBI. Lindgren also scored two of the Tigers’ runs.
Dalton Hews was the next leading Tiger against the Bluejays. Hews had one hit, one double and was walked to base twice. Hews also scored three of the Tigers’ seven runs.
Jack O’Brien and Kade Overton each scored a run for the Tigers. O’Brien finished the game with two hits and one RBI and Overton had one hit.
Pitching six of the seven innings, Overton was also the winning pitcher for the Tigers. He allowed the Bluejays five hits and two runs, but struck out 12 batters for an ERA of 2.33.
The 7-2 victory over the Bluejays put the Tigers’ season record at 13-8. The Tigers have a game in Winterset today (June 26) at 7:30 p.m.
