The Van Meter Bulldogs played the Des Moines Christian Lions on Monday, June 26. The Bulldogs brought home their 22nd win of the season when they beat the Lions 7-1.


The Bulldogs only allowed the Lions their one run in the fourth inning. The Bulldogs had earned all seven of their runs by the top of the fifth inning, four of which were in the fifth.


Sam Thompson was the leader of game against the Lions. Thompson finished the game with two hits and three RBIs, he also scored one of the Bulldpgs’ seven runs.


Brady O’Brien followed Thompson with two hits and one RBI. O’Brien also scored one run for the Bulldogs. Drew Gordon finished the game with one hit, one RBI and one run against the Lions.


Connor Guess finished the game with two hits and JJ Durflinger had one hit, both Bulldogs scored two runs.


Mitch Pomeroy and Kaleb Booge each hat one hit to finish up the Bulldogs’ total of ten. Brett Berg and Anthony Potthoff each had one of the seven RBIs of the game.


The Bulldogs will play a double header on Thursday, June 29 at home against Woodward-Granger at 5:00 p.m.
