Waukee’s baseball team played the Southeast Polk Rams in a close double header on Monday, June 26. The Warriors won the first game 2-1 and lost the second 3-1.

The first game went into eight innings after the Warriors scored just one run in the second inning and the Rams had one run in the third inning. The Warriors won the game when they scored their second run in the top of the eighth inning.

Tyrese Moore and Ross Hingst were the two Warriors to score during the first game. Moore finished the game with two hits and Hingst had one hit, a double and one RBI.

As a team, the Warriors finished the first game against the Rams with eight hits and just two RBIs.

In the second game, both teams were done scoring by the bottom of the third inning. The Warriors had allowed the Rams to score one run in each of the first three innings, while they only scored in the second.

Hingst was the one to score for the Warriors. Hingst also had one hit and was walked to base once during the game.

Of the Warriors six hits of the second game, Zach Pierson had two, as well as one double. Calvin Smith, Jake Morrison and Moore each had one hit for the Warriors.

Bubba Woods had the only RBI of the second game for the Warriors.

The Warriors hold an 18-9 record so far this season, their next game is on Wednesday, June 28 against Ankeny at 5 p.m.
