The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers hosted the Van Meter Bulldogs on Thursday, July 6. The Bulldogs took the 16-9 victory, leaving the Tigers with a 17-11 season record.

The Tigers started the game with the first run in the first inning, but the Bulldogs quickly came back with two runs of their own in the second innings. From there, the Bulldogs continued to score through the seventh inning. The Tigers only had three runs up until the sixth inning where they scored three runs and then scored three more in the seventh. Even with the Tigers’ six last-minute runs, they weren’t able to catch up to the Bulldogs and lost by seven.

The three Bulldogs to dominate the game were JJ Durflinger, Kolby Booge and Marshall Smith. Durflinger and Booge each scored three runs and Smith scored four.

Durflinger also had two hits, a double, was walked to base four times and had two RBIs for the Bulldogs. Smith had two hits and was walked to base once.

Both Mitch Pomeroy and Owen Crawford scored one run against the Tigers, they also had three RBIs and two hits each for the Bulldogs.

The leaders for the Tigers were Kinnick Sutton and Jack O’Brien.

Sutton scored twice against the Bulldogs. He had one hits and one of the Tigers’ three RBIs. O’Brien scored once for the Tigers. He also had one hit, a double, was walked once and had one RBI. The third RBI for the Tigers went to Nick Lindgren.

After their 16-9 victory the Bulldogs have a 26-4 record on the season while the Tigers hold a 17-11 record.

The Bulldogs will be playing at home tonight, July 7, against Martensdale St. Mary’s at 7:30 p.m. The Tigers will also be playing again tonight. The Tigers will take on Carlisle at home at 7:30 p.m.
