Van Meter has won the West Central Activities Conference (WCAC) All Sports Title. This is the first time the Bulldogs have claimed this title in school history.

Each school is awarded points depending on how all of their sports teams finish in the WCAC. Each conference sport is worth ten points for first place (second gets nine, etc.) and points are split if there is a tie.

This year the Bulldogs won the title with 87.5 points, second place went to Panorama (78.5) and in third place was Ogden (75.5).

For the 2016-2017 season, the Bulldogs were conference champions in boys basketball, wrestling and baseball.

In 2013-2014 and 2015-2016 the Bulldogs placed second, their highest title until this year. In 2015-2016 the Bulldogs tied with 80.5 points and in 2013-2014 they finished with 75.5 points.

Athletic Director Rick Roberts is proud of the athletes at Van Meter.

“We are pleased with winning (the title). I think it shows the overall growth and development of our teams. Our players and coaches have worked hard. We are trying to get all our sports to a level, we are competing for conference championships and this is a step in the right direction.”
