The Waukee Warriors played the Des Moines Roosevelt Roughriders on Friday, Sept 22. The Warriors advanced to 3-2 after their 48-13 victory over the Roughriders.
Quarterback Mitch Randall had 12 pass attempts during the game with seven completions for a 58.3 percentage. Randall threw 212 yards, one interception and two touchdowns, his longest touchdown was for 54 yards. He finished the game with a quarterback rating of 245.1.
Jordan Perry led the Warriors in rushing yards. Perry had nine rush attempts for 80 yards with an average of 8.9 yards per carry. Perry also scored two touchdowns, the longest for two yards.
The second leading Warrior was Randall, who had five attempts for 32 yards. Randall scored one eight-yard rushing touchdown as well.
Blake Espeland also had 10 rushing attempts against the Roughriders for a total of 32 yards, but did not score a touchdown.
The Warriors’ two leading receivers were Tyrese Moore and Sam DeVries. Moore ended with game with four receptions for 139 yards and an average of 34.8 yards per catch. Moore scored one touchdown for 54 yards.
DeVries had two receptions against the Roughriders for a total of 73 yards. DeVries also scored one touchdown for 51 of hist 73 yards.
Kicker Ben Lang finished the game with a PAT percentage of 85.7 after making six of his seven attempts.
On defense, Nathan McDonald and Ethan Rose led the Warriors in tackles. Both Seniors had a total of five tackles, all of which were solo tackles.
Hunter Deskin and Nolan Roethler each had one interception against the Roughriders. Roethler scored one touchdown from his 38 return yards and Deskin scored his touchdown from his 24 return yards.
The Warriors beat the Roughriders 48-13 for their third victory of the season. Waukee has their Homecoming game this Friday (Sept. 29) against Sioux City East at 7 p.m.
