The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers had a tough loss to the Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays on Tuesday, Oct. 10. The Bluejays won in three sets and left the Tigers with their first conference loss of the season (6-1).


The Tigers fought in all three sets, and kept the score fairly close. The Tigers fell 25-21 in the first set, 25-18 in the second and 25-22 in the third set.


Of the team’s 16 kills, Sami Schepers led with seven. Schepers finished the match with 21 attack attempts and four errors for a kill efficiency of 0.143.


Setter Delaney Bertman had 14 of the Tigers’ 15 assists. Of the team’s 34 digs, libero Jordan Hook led the Tigers with 10.


The Tigers had a total of eight blocks; three Tigers had two each. Bertman, Amy Gottschalk and Josi Lonneman each had two blocks; each had one solo and one block assist.


Bertman and Abbie Hlas were the only two Tigers to score an ace on the Bluejays. Bertman finished the night with 11 of her 13 serves being successful for a serve efficiency of 0.86. Hlas had 10 of her 11 serves successfully make it over the net. Hlas had a 0.909 serve efficiency.


The leader in serves for the Tigers was Schepers, who had a perfect serve efficiency after all 13 of her serves were successful.


The Tigers play again on Saturday, Oct.14 at an invitational in Knoxville, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
