The Dallas Center-Grimes Fillies traveled to Norwalk on Oct. 12 for the Little Hawkeye Conference tournament. The Fillies took home the title when they went 4-0 beating all four of their opponents in just two sets.

The Fillies beat the Norwalk Warriors 21-17 in the first match and 21-13 in the second match.

Tiffany Denger and Abby Greiman led the Fillies in kills. The juniors each ended the game with a 0.250 kill efficiency and four kills.

Denger also had the Fillies only block against the Warriors.

Hannah Ashley led the Fillies in serves. She had two of the team’s four aces and had ten of her 12 serves go over the net. Ashley finished with a 0.833 serve efficiency.

The Fillies played the Pella Dutch next. The Fillies had just played the Dutch on Tuesday and won 3-1. The Fillies came back and won in two sets on Thursday (25-23 and 21-16).

Ashley and Greiman led the Fillies in kills against the Dutch. Ashley finished the match with three kills, one error and eight attack attempts for an efficiency of 0.375. Greiman had three kills as well. She also had one error and seven attack attempts for her efficiency of 0.286.

The Fillies had a total of five blocks at the end of the match. Ally Ferguson and Greiman each had two and Denger with one.

Kamryn O’Brien led the Fillies in serves. She had one of the team’s two aces and was successful on all 14 of her aces. Ferguson also had one ace and was successful on all ten of her serves.

The Fillies beat the Oskaloosa Indians in two sets as well. The Fillies won the first set 21-13 and the second 21-16.

Denger led the Fillies in kills again. She had four kills, two errors and seven attack attempts. Denger finished the match with a kill efficiency of 0.286.

Denger also led the team in blocks. She had four of the team’s nine blocks, all of which were block assists.

Ashley had a perfect serve efficiency to lead the Fillies. She was able to make all nine of her serves over and score one of the Fillies’ aces.

The Fillies’ last match was against the Indianola Indians. The Fillies beat the Indians in two sets (25-15 and 25-23).

With five kills, Greiman led the Fillies in kills again. She had only three errors and ten attack attempts for a kill efficiency of 0.200.

Greiman also had five of the Fillies’ eight blocks. She finished the match with three block assists and two solo blocks.

As a team, the Fillies finished the game with a 100 percent serve efficiency. O’Brien led the team with ten successful serves. The Fillies scored three aces against the Indians, Miles had two and Ferguson had one. Both Fillies had eight successful serves as well.

After their victories, the Fillies are now 26-7 on the season. They will start regionals on Tuesday, Oct. 24 with a game against the winner of Ballard versus Des Moines Hoover.
