The Waukee Warriors’ volleyball season came to an end just one game shy of the State Tournament. The Warriors took on Linn-Mar in the regional finals, but lost in three sets to end their season 26-21.
The Warriors played a total of 119 sets during the 2017-2018 season. Throughout those sets, they racked up 1,153 kills. They Warriors had 3,363 attack attempts and 568 errors on the season for a kill efficiency of 0.174. The team averaged 9.69 kills per set.
Junior Haley Bush was the leader for the Warriors in kills. Bush had 352 kills in the 2017-2018 season on 997 attack attempts. With her 157 errors, Bush ended the year with a 0.196 kill efficiency, she also averaged 3.12 kills per set.
The Warriors finished the year with 2,217 successful serves out of their 2,337 attempts. As a team, the Warriors ended the season with a serve efficiency of 0.906. They also scored 245 aces throughout the season, averaging 2.06 per set.
Kelsey Plumb led the Warriors in serves. Plumb ended the year with a serve efficiency of 0.953 after 426 of her 447 serves were successful. She also scored 33 of the Warriors aces to average 0.28 per set.
The Warriors averaged just over nine assists per set (9.17) after having a total of 1091 on the season. The Warriors averaged 11.87 digs per set and had a total of 1,413.
Averaging 7.56 assists per set was Plumb. Plumb ended the year with 900 of the team’s assists. Avery Showalter was the leader for the Warriors in digs. She ended the year with 386 digs for an average of 3.33 per set.
As a team, the Warriors had 292 blocks last season, 232 of which were block assists and 60 that were solo blocks. The Warriors ended the year averaging 2.45 blocks per set.
Taylor Carey and Maggie Clark led the team in blocks last season. Both Warriors had a total of 59 blocks. Carey finished the year with 47 block assists and 12 solo blocks, Clark had 49 assists and 10 solo blocks.
The Warriors’ season ended with a 26-21 record after a loss in the regional finals.
