The Dallas Center-Grimes Fillies played their third game of the season on Tuesday, Nov. 28. The Fillies took on the Southeast Polk Rams, but fell 63-40.

The Fillies just couldn’t catch up after the Rams got a ten point lead in the first quarter (19-9). After the first quarter, the Rams continued to keep a strong lead until they were up 23 points.

The leading scorer for the Fillies was Jenna Borchers. Borchers had 15 points for the Fillies after she made two field goals, two three pointers and all five of her free throws. The second leading scorer was freshman Julia Reis, who had ten points. Reis made one field goal, two three pointers and two free throws.

The Fillies had a team total of 16 rebounds. Jordan Cunningham and Reis had a combined total of ten rebounds. Cunningham had six rebounds on her own, two of which were offensive rebounds and four that were defensive. Reis ended the game with four rebounds, two offensive and two defensive rebounds.

Borchers was the leader for the Fillies in assists with a total of two. Cunningham also led the Fillies with five steals out of the team’s 12. The Fillies had only one block against the Rams. Junior Tiffany Denger was the Filly with the block.

The Fillies next game is on Friday, Dec. 1 at home against Norwalk at 5:45 p.m.
