The A-D-M girls’ basketball team couldn’t find any kind of rhythm on Friday, Feb. 9 as they were outscored for four quarters against the Boone Toreadors in Adel. The Tigers fell to the Toreadors 55-18.


The Toreadors (20-1) started with a 16-8 advantage in the first quarter and never looked back, outscoring the Tigers (8-13) 15-3 in the second quarter, 18-2 in the third and 6-5 in the fourth.


The Tigers were just 8-of-38 from the field and missed on all eight 3-point attempts in the game. The Toreadors were near 50 percent from the field, connecting on 21-of-43 shots in the game, including 3-of-11 from beyond the arc.


A-D-M sophomore Abbie Hlas was the only Tiger to score more than three points. She scored 11 points on a 5-of-12 shooting performance while also pulling down a team-high seven rebounds.


The Toreadors had three players in double figures. Madyln Danner and Caitlynne Shadle had 12 points apiece while Claire Sandvig scored 11.


The loss was A-D-M’s second straight the finish the regular season. The Tigers tipped off against Winterset in the first round of Regionals on Wednesday with the winner advancing to the semifinals against Lewis Central in Council Bluffs on Saturday.
