A peppering of the top five individual spots helped the Dallas Center-Grimes girls golf team top their first competitive action of the season at the Beaver Creek Country Club Thursday, April 5th.
The Fillies totaled three golfers inside the top five with five golfers peppering the top ten. The Fillies nearly swept the podium as juniors Annagrace Dalbey and Lydia Steier took the top two spots. Dalbey had perhaps one of her best round of her career with a nine hole 48 complete with a tie breaker to earn the top medalist spot. Last years’ nine hole average leader for DC-G also picked up a 48 for the round and placed second.
Senior Sarah Rauschenberg came up just three strokes off of her career nine hole low score, ending her night with a 50 for the meet. She was followed by junior Aubree Klug in seventh with a mark of 56 through nine holes of action. Dallas Center-Grimes rounded out the top ten with a ninth place finish by Filly senior Reagan Stokley thanks to a nine hole score of 59. Junior Grace Wengert rounded out the varsity scoring in 15th place with a nine hole score of 61.
With the invitational set to take place in Perry on Saturday, April 7th cancelled, the Fillies will remain at home for their next go round welcoming in Indianola High School to Beaver Creek Golf Course for a 4:15 pm meet..
