The offensive floodgates opened up for the Waukee boys soccer team Friday night as they took it to Des Moines North by a 6-1 final.
The Warriors already came into Friday’s contest on a bit of a hot streak with a pair of wins against top 15 teams in Urbandale (14) and Des Moines Roosevelt (13) and made it three straight wins against North.
Waukee’s six goals were spread across three players with the bulk of the production coming off the foot of junior Cameron Borst who had an official hat trick with three goals scored. Three attempts were all Borst needed connecting on all three for three goals and six points total. Those goals vaulted Borst to earn a share of the team lead in both goals and points so far on the season.
Fellow junior Jackson Keeler also chipped in production to the tune of two goals and four points. The scoring was rounded out with senior Connor Wallace who picked up his 12th career goal.
Defensively, only one shot managed to find the back of the Waukee net as sophomore goal keeper Tanner Jagim played lights out issuing seven saves for the contest.
The Warriors have now won three straight after falling in their first two outings and now yield a 3-2 record. The 11th ranked Warriors will take their talents to Marshalltown for a contest against Marshalltown High School on Tuesday, April 17th. The Warriors will be looking to start their season with four wins in the first six games for the sixth time in eight seasons.
The match up will begin at 7:30 pm.
