They say the best promotion is winning and if that’s the case the Dallas Center-Grimes boys’ golf team has been doing a lot of promoting lately.

After a successful weekend tournament where they rattled off two wins by a combined 10-2 margin, the ninth ranked Mustangs defeated Class 4A’s Indianola Tuesday night by a 2-1 final.

The Mustangs needed just nine shots on goal to complete their victory with the two goals coming courtesy of junior Tucker Kiley and senior Garrett Belzer. Belzer connected on his third goal of his senior campaign while Kiley chipped in his sixth goal of 2018. Senior Eric Johansson picked up his fifth assist on the year which leads all Mustangs.

The Mustangs will resume their season on Thursday, May 3 in a home contest against Perry. The varsity contest is scheduled (weather pending) for 7 p.m.
