Success continued to rain down on the A-D-M boys’ golf team who secured a spot in the district meet next week with a second place finish at the sectional tournament in Denison Friday.

The sectional tournament totaled 18 holes in all and was held at the Majestic Hills Golf Course. It was there that the Raccoon River Conference champion Tigers pulled off a second place finish with a team score of 323. Micah Moyer’s nine par, two birdie performance led the way for A-D-M with a five-over par 76, good enough for fourth place overall.

A-D-M’s Adam O’Connor put in the second best score for the Tigers, using a three-over par front nine and a six-over par back nine to total 80 strokes for the meet. That mark put O’Connor in a three way tie for seventh place but ending up in ninth place due to card back rules.

The A-D-M scorecard continued on with Matthew West who’s two nine hole rounds consisted of a 41 stroke front nine and a 40 stroke back nine. Grant Curran topped off the top four scores for the Tigers, earning an 18 hole score of 86. Grant Garton took 88 strokes to complete his day while Carter Greenslade wrapped up the A-D-M scoring with a 92.

While no individuals made the top two, A-D-M’s second place team finish guarantees them a spot in the district meet which will be held at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club. The district meet will take place on Friday, May 18 and will begin at 10 a.m.
