Two hits each from Caitlynne Shadle and Emily Ades helped the Boone softball team get a bounce-back win.


Emma Dighton contributed by driving in two runs during Monday’s7-2 victory over Bondurant-Farrar, ending a stretch in which the Toreadors had lost six of their previous eight games.


Victoria Lewis added a run-scoring triple.


Ades pitched 5 1/3 innings against the Bluejays, holding them to four hits and walking three, while striking out five.


Boone improved to 6-11 on the season, with games scheduled this week against Webster City, Winterset and Marshalltown, plus four matchups in a Roland-Story classic.


Dighton paces the offense with a .500 batting average and a team-best five triples, four home runs and 17 runs-batted-in.


Shadle is hitting .455 with six stolen bases and eight RBIs. Ellen Castle is batting .417. Zoey Hightshoe is hitting at a .408 clip.


Lauren Calkins has driven in 15 runs with a .310 average. Lewis has 11 RBIs and a .348 average.


The Toreadors boast a team batting average of .360.


Ades has been solid in the pitching circle, posting a 3-0 record and 3.79 earned-run average in 20 1/3 innings.


Dighton owns a 4.82 ERA in 72 2/3 innings.
