A tight ball game fell against the Dallas Center-Grimes softball team Monday night as the Fillies fell to conference foe and sixth ranked Oskaloosa by a 4-2 final.

Oskaloosa opened up the scoring in the very first inning and by the end of the third held a 3-0 lead. The Fillies would battle back to plate two runs in the fourth, both coming off the bat of freshman Maria Hendricks. From there not much offense occurred except for an insurance run in the top of the seventh for Oksaloosa which brought the game to a 4-2 final.

The Fillies scratched across a total of six hits in the game and Amber Fistler recorded the team’s only two hit bid of the night going 2-3. Inside the circle Riley Hall would suffer the loss after six innings of work. The sophomore allowed four runs off of seven hits but did record two strikeouts.

The Fillies have gone through quite the gauntlet as of late with five ranked teams spread out across their last ten games. That includes match up against Class 5A’s seventh ranked Waukee, and fourth ranked Indianola.

The Fillies are now 5-14 on the season and will be back in action looking for a win tonight with a double header match up against Pella. Weather permitting game one of the double header will begin at 5:30 p.m. It is a rescheduled double header that was rained out from Monday, June 11.
