Coming off of a strong game two win against Newton last Friday, the Dallas Center-Grimes baseball team was riding high as they took on a home contest against Oskaloosa Monday night.

Unfortunately, Oskaloosa held the hot hitting Mustang squad scoreless and DC-G would fall 3-0.

Oskaloosa brought in the games’ first two runs in the second inning for a 2-0 advantage while adding one more run in the fourth for the only three runs of the game.

Coming into the game the Mustangs averaged seven and a half hits and nearly five runs per game. Monday night however, the Mustangs mustered just one hit which came courtesy of a Justin Biegger single. Defensively, Dallas Center-Grimes was actually pretty strong. Zack Beekmann recorded a solid outing giving up just five hits and one earned run while dishing out a strikeout in the process.

All together DC-G limited an Oskaloosa squad averaging nearly eight hits and six runs per game to just six hits and three runs on the night.

The Mustangs drop their record to 5-10 on the year and will look to add in a few more wins Wednesday night. They will be hitting the road to continue their season, traveling to Grinnell for a conference double header which will begin at 5:30 p.m.
