New London High School is within one win of a spot in the Class 1A state softball tournament.

And the Tigers will be playing at home with a chance to earn that spot.

The Tigers knocked off No. 8 Sigourney, 2-0 in Friday's regional semifinal at Sigourney.

New London (19-9) will play host to North Mahaska (21-8) in Monday's 7 p.m. regional final.

New London scored a run in the third inning when Sofie Reighard scored on a passed ball, then Camryn Blint's RBI single in the fifth inning scored Reinhard with an insurance run, as the Tigers picked up their fifth win in the last six games.

Blint was the winning pitcher, allowing just three hits while striking out 10.

Carson McSorley had two hits for the Tigers.

ALBIA 12, WEST BURLINGTON-NOTRE DAME 0: The Falcons' season ended with a four-inning loss in a Class 3A regional semifinal.

Addy Kellen had two of WB-ND's three hits in the game. Lexy Davis had the other hit.

Albia scored in every inning, getting four in the first, two in the second and third innings, and then four in the fourth. Albia had 12 hits.

WB-ND ends the season 17-13.

Hannah Isley drove in four runs for Albia. Makenna Ross had three hits and drove in two runs. Jena Lawrence was the winning pitcher, striking out seven.

BASEBALL

MOUNT PLEASANT 9, EDDYVILLE-BLAKESBURG 8: Rylan Seberg and Colby Potts each drove in two runs as the Panthers won the nonconference game.

Mount Pleasant took the lead with three runs in the sixth inning, then held on for the win.
