As week four approaches, the ADM Tiger football team is riding high on a perfect 3-0 start to the 2018 season.

It’s success that’s been noticed not just across ADM fans and spectators, but also by the Iowa High School Athletic Association. The IHSAA released their initial football rankings percentage index recently and thanks to their efforts, the Tigers now find themselves third in the Class 3A RPI poll with a percentage of .7135. That plays well into the new playoff format that arose back in January that takes three main things into account in overall record, opponent’s record, and the opponents of the opponents record.

ADM has had quite the opponent list to start the season who yield combined records of 140 wins and 103 losses with a combined 14-13 start. As it stands right now, that’s one of the best marks across the high school football landscape. Only district nine teams in Lewis Central and Bishop Heelan yield better playoff RPI marks than ADM so far.

Only district champions are guaranteed spots in the playoffs with the remaining seven spots at the mercy of the Football Ratings Percentage Index. Tomorrow night will wrap up the non-district portion of the schedule which ADM head coach Garrison Carter says is oh so important.

“The way the playoffs are set, every non-district game is important,” began Carter. “Winning these games could mean the difference between making the playoffs or not and we need to treat them as such.”

Adding to the excitement is the fact that it is homecoming week for the Tigers as they look to down the visiting Boone Toreadors. Game kick off is set for 7:30 p.m.
