There have been many ADM athletic stars to shine beyond the high school level and the latest in the line of successes is the one and only Sydney Bertman.

Bertman, a multi-sport phenom while at ADM, has been that and more for Grand View University Athletics and the most recent bout of success has come on the soccer pitch. On Sunday, October 7 the Grand View University Women’s soccer team was home hosting the Wildcats of Culver-Stockton College and claimed a 1-0 win in Altoona, Iowa. It was post-homecoming day for Grandview University and it was Sydney Bertman who gave soccer fans extra means for celebration after scoring the game winning goal.

Bertman netted the game winner with less than eleven minutes remaining in the game off of a cross. The goal marked Bertman’s fifth goal of her sophomore campaign which currently leads the Lady Vikings through twelve matches played.

Bertman and the rest of the Grand View University Lady Vikings will take on Heart of America Conference foe Benedictine College in Atchison Kansas today beginning at 5 p.m.
