More success from beyond the high school walls for Waukee as former Warrior football star Ben Ferkin was given some much deserved recognition Tuesday.

The former play caller for the Warriors is in his second season quarterbacking for the Grand View University football team and this week, was given some high praise. With a phenomenal homecoming performance, Ferkin was giving the Heart of America Conference Offensive Player of the Week Honor. That came after Ferkin torched the MidAmerica Nazarene defense for 335 yards and completing 21 of 25 passing attempts. The collegiate sophomore signal caller poured in five total touchdowns which consisted of four through the air, and one on the ground.

With that performance added in, Ferkin now has a 186.5 pass efficiency rating which currently puts the sophomore third-highest in the NAIA. The former Warrior has completed an astounding 73.2 percent of his pass attempts on the season, giving him the second-best completion rate in the entire country.

On the season as a whole, Ferkin now has 1,142 passing yards, averaging 228.4 yards per game. Ferkin also has ten total touchdowns scored with just one interception through five games worth of action.
