They may need a little help, but Tyler Casotti and his Boone football teammates will enter the regular season’s final week still in contention for a playoff spot.

The Toreadors avoid elimination by rallying to beat Perry 35-28 on Friday.

Quali Sporaa’s one-handed touchdown catch with 1:37 left in the fourth quarter gave Boone its first lead and proved to be the winning score.

Most of the night was spent playing catch up.

Perry jumped ahead 14-0 and maintained a 21-13 edge at halftime. Even after the Toreadors evened the score at 21-21 and 28-28 there was some doubt about winning.

Boone improved to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the District, and will host Webster City next week.
