Anthony Nelson recorded 17 points, 10 rebounds and three assists to lead Waukee past Johnston 56-45 on Tuesday.
The Warriors, who improved to 3-0, also got a 14-point game from guard Ted Crites. Nate Gehring added nine points and five rebounds, and Michael Jacobson posted an eight-point, 11-rebounds game.
Waukee used a 23-8 run in the third quarter took control of its Dec. 6 matchup with Indianola and coast to a 65-48 victory.
Michael Jacobson scored 19 points to go with six rebounds and three blocked shots. Nate Gehrine added 18 points, six rebounds and three blocks, and Anthony Nelson contributed eight points and six rebounds. Michael Winger hit a trio of 3-pointers to finish with nine points, six rebounds and three assists, and Parker Howe came off the bench to contribute eight points and four assists.
Seven of the Warriors’ next eight games are at home, including Friday’s matchup with Ankeny Centennial.
