The Van Meter girls’ basketball team coasted to a 62-14 victory over Madrid on Tuesday.

With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 11-4 on the season, and 9-2 in West Central Activities Conference play. They are in third place in the conference, one game behind front-runners Panorama and Des Moines Christian.

The Bulldogs powered out to a 51-5 halftime lead against the Tigers. Mackenzie Roberts scored a game-high 15 points, Katie Agey added 12, Nicole Meyer finished with 11 and Caroline Maher contributed eight.

Van Meter hosts Woodward-Granger on Friday before traveling to Stuart for a matchup with West Central Valley on Jan. 28.
