With six event victories, the A-D-M boys’ track team pulled away from the field to win at Pella Christian on Tuesday.
The Tigers tallied 139 points, besting runner-up Pella (132) in the seven-team meet.
Jesse Bennett continued his dominance in the shot put, winning with a throw of 48 feet, 1 1/4 inches.
Tate Jensen won the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.5 seconds and the 400 hurdles in 57.2. Josh Berger won the 800 in 2:15.36, and both the distance medley (Jordan Grove, Grant Goeden, Beck Goplerud, Kyle Hovey) and 4×100 (Goeden, Goplerud, Kolton Wicks, Grove) were victorious.
Goden was second in the 100, Grove was second in the 200, and three relays — the shuttle hurdle (Wicks, Kolby Whisner, Ricky Chestnutwood, Goplerud), 4×800 (Hovey, Berger, Cooper Richardson, Elijah McCartney) and 4×200 (Wicks, Whisner, Chestnutwood, Goplerud) — were all second.
The 4×400 team of Chestnutwood, Wicks, Hovey and Richardson finished third in 3:52.95.
A-D-M’s home track meet on Friday was cancelled.
The A-D-M boys’ track team claimed third at the Nevada Invitational on April 4.
The Tigers got three event victories. Grove won the 100-meter dash (11.51 seconds) and 200 (23.49), and was third in the 400 (54.09). Bennett won the shot put, throwing 48 feet, 10 3/4 inches.
The Tigers’4×200 (Wicks, Goplerud, Chestnutwood, Goeden), 4×400 (Chestnutwood, Richardson, Hovey, Goplerud) and distance medley (Grove, Goeden, Goplerud, Hovey) were second. The 4×800 (Hovey, Berger, Richardson, McCartney) and 4×100 teams (Wicks, Whisner, Goplerud, Goeden) were third.
Chestnutwood took third in the 400 hurdles, as did Whisner in the 110 high hurdles.
A-D-M finished with 114 points behind Pella (207) and Nevada (129).
