The Dallas Center-Grimes girls soccer team got off to an even start, winning one and losing one in their first two matches. The No. 6 Fillies (1-1) defeated Gilbert 2-0 in the season opener and lost to Pella 1-0 on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Filly goalkeeper Addy Rosa played 80 minutes and face four shots, stopping three of them and gave up the only goal of the game. The Fillies had 12 shots on goal to Pella’s four, with Allison O’Brien having five shots on goal, but the Fillies weren’t able to find the back of the net as they lost for the first time of the season.

In the season opener on April 10 against Gilbert, a 2-0 victory for the Fillies, Rosa stopped the only shot she faced in 80 minutes played in the match. Jaci Finley, a junior this season, had both goals for the Fillies.

Finley connected for a goal on the only two shots she took in the match and the Fillies started their season 1-0.

The Fillies started the season ranked No. 6 in the Iowa Girls High School Athletics Union preseason rankings after qualifying for the state tournament last season, where they lost 2-1 to Pella in the first round.
