Dallas Center-Grimes closed out the regular season with three conference victories to edge Carlisle for the Raccoon River championship.
The Fillies beat Perry 10-5 on Tuesday, Carroll 12-0 on Monday and Bondurant-Farrar 3-1 on July 5.
DC-G scored eight runs in the first inning against Perry. Jackie Peyton had two hits and drove in three, and Allison O’Brien and Tabitha Taylor each drove in two. Paige Lowary, who had three hits, struck out 10 over four innings. Rachel Lowary struck out three over two innings, and Emily Ellerman pitched the final frame.
O’Brien had two hits and an RBI and Draisey drove in two against Carroll. Brooke Kramer added three hits and Lowary struck out eight, while allowing one hit and four walks.
Paige Lowary had two hits against Carroll while striking out five and limiting the Tigers to just two hits. Allison O’Brien scored three runs and Taylor Draisey scored twice.
All three of the Fillies’ runs came in the sixth inning against B-F. Draisey drove in two and O’Brien had two hits. Paige Lowary struck out eight, walked four and gave up one hit in seven innings.
DC-G opens regional play at home against either Carroll or Creston on Saturday at 7 p.m. The winner advances to the regional final in Dallas Center on July 16.
