A-D-M used a 29-point second quarter to fight off Newton 70-63 on Tuesday.

Grant Goeden scored a team-high 18 points to lead the Tigers to their second straight win. Logan Essy added 14 points, Jacob Hardy finished with 13 and Robby Sloss scontributed nine.

Hardy’s double-double helped A-D-M beat Winterset 64-44 on Dec. 6.

Hardy, a sophomore, posted a 15-point, 11-rebound game. The Tigers, who trailed by two points at halftime, outscored Winterset 45-23 in the second half.

Essy added 11 points and six assists, while Johnny Reel finished with eight points. Jackson VerWoert finished with seven points and Goeden had six points, five rebounds, seven assists and five steals.

A-D-M plays host to Carroll on Friday, and will square off against Creston on Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
