After starting on a high note, winning three-straight matches to start the season, the Dallas Center-Grimes boys’ soccer team has fallen on hard times as it has now lost three-straight matches to even out its record.
The No. 6 Mustangs (3-3) lost on the road to Norwalk (5-3) by a final score of 2-1 on Tuesday night.
Junior goalkeeper Colin Quass made 17 saves in the match and surrendered two goals to the Warriors in the loss on Tuesday night. Junior Kullen Neyens scored the only goal for the Mustangs in the match.
Neyens is now the team leader for the Mustangs in both goals and assists with four of each. Sophomore Tomah Leamah is in second on the team in both categories with three goals and two assists.
Quass has played 436 minutes so far this season and has made 61 saves and has allowed seven goals for a .897 save percentage. He allows 1.284 goals per game on average.
The Mustangs’ next match is against Winterset in Grimes on Saturday. The match begins at 9:30 a.m. with the junior varsity match to follow.
