The Dallas Center-Grimes baseball team has won four straight, including a lopsided 16-1 victory over Van Meter on Monday.
The Mustangs scored seven runs in the third and nine in the fourth against the Bulldogs. Michael Foggia, Nick Schiller and Jordan Kloewer drove in three runs apiece, Justin Carlyle had two hits and scored three times and Max Balzer scored twice and drove in two. Cole Baker won, allowing only two walks while striking out five over three innings.
DC-G went on to blank Perry 6-0 on Tuesday, getting a three-RBI performance from Carlyle. Tyler Pierson was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Sam Wadsworth struck out five, surrendering just two hits in the complete-game shutout.
A pair of early runs made the difference for DC-G in a 2-0 win at Bondurant-Farrar on July 5. The Mustangs scored once in the first and once in the second with RBIs from Pierson and Wadsworth. Wadsworth turned in a gem on the mound, allowing three hits and striking out two for the win.
