Grinnell dealt the Dallas Center-Grimes basketball team just its second loss in 11 games this season with a 65-62 victory on Tuesday.
The Mustangs got 19 points from Nick Drucker and 14 from Andrew Kramer, but it was not enough to topple the Tigers, who were led by a 24-point effort form Joe Schmidt.
It was DC-G’s first loss since a Dec. 7 trip to Southeast Polk, and it snapped their seven-game win streak.
The Mustangs held Oskaloosa to single digits in three quarters and coasted to a 69-30 win on Jan. 10.
DC-G shot 54 percent (27-of-50) from the field, the third straight game the team finished above the 50 percent mark. Doug Heritage sank three 3-pointers and finished with 16 points. Nick Drucker had 14 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists, and both Blake Borchers and Reese Iversen finished with nine points apiece.
