Kolby Whisner and Johnny Reel connected on a 50-yard touchdown in the third quarter to lift A-D-M past Winterset 14-6 on Sept. 6.

Whisner was 14-of-20 passing for 202 yards. Tate Jensen caught six passes for 109 yards, and Reel finished in with five for 66. Grant Goeden carried 18 times for 94 yards and scored a first-quarter touchdown to stake the Tigers to an early lead.

The A-D-M defense held the Huskies to just 173 yards of offense, led by a 12-tackle, three-sack game by senior defensive end Isaac Norton.

"His solid play raised everyone’s level of play," coach Mike Whisner said. "He brings speed and solid tackling to the defensive end position."

Darold Baker made 11 stops and Zach Ostendorf added seven. Goeden and Isaac Schaefers each recorded sacks, and both had turnovers: Goeden an interception and Schaefers a fumble recovery.

The Tigers return to Adel on Friday to host Glenwood. The Rams are 2-0 and fresh off a 38-19 victory at Council Bluffs Jefferson last week.

"Defensively we need to fly to the ball and make solid tackles to slow them down," Whisner said. "Offensively we need to be aggressive on the line and take what their defense gives us."
