The A-D-M girls’ soccer team rose to the occasion on a cold, wet Tuesday in Bondurant and came away with a 2-0 victory.

Lauren Hofmann struck first, just 8 minutes into the first half, on a corner kick she bent into the goal. The team’s second goal came in the second half by Caroline Maher, who redirected a shot from Emily Hofmann into the goal. Mallory Schultze recorded eight saves.

With two shutouts under their belts, the Tigers return to action on Thursday against Des Moines East at the Cownie soccer complex.

A-D-M triggered the mercy rule on April 4 with 12 minutes left, handing visiting Carroll a 10-0 thrashing.

Jessica Wilson had three goals, including one in the opening minute off a cross from Nikki Corkrean. Corkrean finished with one goal and two assists, and Maher had two goals and one assist.

Madi Bertman and Lauren Hofmann scored on shots from outside the penalty area, and both Kelsey Hofmann and Kylie Saunders added goals. Megan Burditt finished with three assists.

The Tigers return eight starters from last year’s team.

"We have reloaded and are ready to compete for Cownie," coach Al Hofmann said, referring to the new home of the girls’ state tournament in Des Moines.
