WOODWARD – At 20-8 overall, the Woodward-Granger softball team earned a spot in the Class 2-A Top 15 rankings.

The Hawks began the week of June 27 as the No. 15 team in the state.

Woodward-Granger swept the competition last weekend at the Westwood Tournament in Sloan, beating Riverside, Oakland 7-5 and Westwood, Sloan 12-2 June 27 and defeated Whiting 13-3 and Kingsley-Pierson 8-3 June 28.

The June 30 game at Panorama was cancelled due to the severe weather and improbable playing conditions.

The Hawks travel to Carroll for the Tiger/Knight Invitational, closing out the regular season and will play the winner of South Hamilton and Madrid July 9 in Woodward in the second round of the Region 6 Tournament at 7 p.m.
