The Waukee wrestling team logged a 4-1 at its home tournament on Dec. 21.

The Warriors beat Urbandale (44-19), Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson (44-24), Perry (58-18) and Saydel (57-15). Their lone loss was at the hands of Sioux City North, a 47-28 defeat.

Waukee’s three lightest weights proved to be the heavy hitters. Jakob Allison (106), Zach Barnes (113) and Christian Hofbauer (120) went a combined 15-0 with 11 falls, three major dcisions and one technical fall. Allison, ranked third in Class 3A, had four pins and a major decision. Barnes, ranked seventh, had four pins and a technical fall, and Hofbauer had three pins and two major decisions.

Grant Brown counted two falls among his four wins at 138, Sam Sporrer went 4-1 at 195, while 126-pound Max Scheve, 220-pound Tyler Pfaltzgraff and heavyweight Bryce Dunham all went 3-2. Danny Collins (132), Abdul Delati (145), Jessen Hansen (152), Myles Russell (160) and Connor Wachter (182) all had two wins apiece.

It was Waukee’s second win over Urbandale in three days, following a 41-25 matchup on Dec. 19 in Waukee. Allison, Barnes, Hofbauer, Russell and Pfaltzgraff all had pins for the Warriors, and Scheve added a technical fall.
