The Waukee boys’ swimming team had 12 swimmers compete at the district tournament on Feb. 8 and are sending all 12 to the state tournament.

Brett Shaw, Cooper Bell, Colin Murphy and Josh Waltman set a new school record in the medley relay with a time of 1:38.93 and will be seeded ninth at the state tournament. Waltman also set a school record in the 50 freestyle with a time of 0:21.94 and got the tenth seed.

Jack Scafuri set a school record in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:48.99 for the No. 3 seed.

Waltman, Scafuri, Zach Linder and Jackson Kuhlers set a school record in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:29.83.

Kuhlers, Shaw, Scafuri and Linder set a school record with a time of 3:17.11 in the 400 freestyle relay.

Sam Weyers and Gus Muenzenmay also qualified for the state tournament.

Tanner Pingel, Josh Rinderknecht and Grady Rodgers are state tournament alternates.
